Donations and Sponsorship Committee

Affinity Health System is committed to supporting local organizations and charitable events aligned with our mission of providing services that promote the health and well-being of the communities we serve.

The Affinity Donations and Sponsorship Committee meets regularly to review applications for monetary donations.  If your organization is seeking financial support, please review the following criteria for funding.

Requests for funding must meet one or more of the following guidelines. 

Donation Guidelines

Donations are defined as making a gift to a charity with no expectation of advertising or recognition in return.  As a general rule, health-related projects will be given priority for funding. 

A)    Monies must be used to support organizations within Affinity Health System’s service area.

B)    The project/program benefits the community by improving the quality of community services, especially the poor and needy.

C)    Is a charitable national and/or local community organization whose work enhances the quality of life of those Affinity serves.

D)    Is a group/program involving people with mental and/or physical disabilities.

E)     Is a group/program that will serve young people.  For example, programs that benefit needy children.

F)     Is a group/program focused on prevention rather than remediation in medical fields.

G)    Affinity will continue its tradition of supporting Catholic-sponsored programs in the region.

Sponsorship Guidelines

Sponsorships are defined as contributions made to support projects and events with the expectation of advertising/marketing benefit.  As a general rule, health projects will be given priority for funding.  This will include: 

A)      Events related to one or more of Affinity Health System’s major services:  Affinity Heart & Lung Center, Cancer Care, Affinity Women & Families Center (women’s health issues and children’s health issues).

B)     Events/programs that reflect Affinity’s corporate citizenship responsibility in the communities we serve.

Exclusions

  • Requests for dues and membership fees
  • Monies will not be given to organizations that are discriminatory, unethical or that violate the practices of the Ethical and Religious Directives of the Catholic Church.
  • Requests for amateur sports groups.  Affinity provides a set amount of money to parks and recreation departments on an annual basis to be dispersed amongst all teams in our service area.
  • Requests from individuals (walk-a-thon participant, etc.)
  • Attendance at conferences or congresses.
