MENASHA, Wis. - Rosalyn Haase, RD, CD, CDE, MPH, BC-ADM, Registered Dietitian at Affinity Medical Group, has recently been elected to the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE). The NCBDE recognizes and advances the specialty practice of diabetes education through the development, maintenance and protection of the Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) credential and the certification process.
The purpose of the NCBDE program is to conduct certification activities in a manner that upholds standards for competent practice in diabetes self-management education. The CDE credential demonstrates that the certified health care professional possesses distinct and specialized knowledge, thereby promoting quality care for persons with diabetes.
Certification is a voluntary process used to assess and validate qualified health care professionals. Applicants who achieve certification demonstrate that they meet rigorous eligibility requirements. Certification is not required by law for employment in the field, although some agencies may use board certification as a basis for employment, job promotions, salary increases or other considerations.
ABOUT NCBDE:
NCBDE is not a membership organization. This Board elects its directors from a slate of nominees prepared by a Nominating Committee.
